Three years ago, I uncovered how the far right had co-opted the far left’s focus on racial consciousness to fuel their own “white consciousness” agenda. They mirrored tactics from Critical Race Theory (CRT) debates, manipulating language and using what I call “ideological container words” to stoke fear, deepen divisions, and present ethnonationalism as a natural solution. As these strategies gained traction and their “anti-white” rhetoric spread, figures like Hitler and Putin were increasingly glorified as strong, noble leaders, pushing people into polarized echo chambers and further detaching society from reality. Today, we revisit that investigation, explore new developments, and reflect on the lessons from this troubling shift in discourse.
